My Training

Historically I worked at a crisis service in Leeds called Dial House (part of Leeds-Survivor-Led Crisis Service, LSLCS) for about fifteen years. This included a time as the service manager (2017-2020) and setting up the OASIS crisis house (2020-2022).

I was originally trained in the Person-Centred Approach. My postgraduate counselling training was in Humanistic counselling: this is more of an umbrella category of approaches, which includes Person-Centred counselling as well as other therapeutic approaches.

I draw from Gendlin (Focusing), Prouty (pre-therapy) and emotion focused techniques.
